The normal, not-a-terf thing to do would be to say “that’s a lie, I’m not a terf.” 🌝

I asked because I was receiving threats in regards to my life and my job. I’m not a terf, but I wanted this anonymous person to come off anon and have a further discussion with me without being anonymous.

Thanks for your thoughts on how I should have handled it.

There’s a part of me that always crops up that wants to act in good faith and I start to second guess myself. I genuinely wonder if somewhere deep down even a narcissistic ass can be saved from their own self-aggrandizement. 

Makes me want to find some nicer way to say how fucked up it is to be told “hey your writing reads as ableist with an almost fetishistic desire to use disability as a source of trauma in a way that very clearly gives you a thrill and you show a clear pattern of repeated transphobic comments and these communities you claim to want to champion are telling you very directly and clearly that you other and dehumanize and degrade them in truly heinous ways” and your response is just that you’re a victim of bullying, because you’re always the victim, aren’t you, just like the caregivers in your stories who remain the focus, not the disabled character you’re using as trauma porn.

To ask if you’ve ever wondered why if you searched your now deleted twitter alongside the word “terf” it turns back results of people calling you one over and over and over. Do you think all those people are wrong, or do you think you’re doing things that are hurtful and degrading and your behavior is worth questioning in the slightest?

But then there’s the part of me that takes it at face value that you’re a woman in her mid-30s who should know better than this and my feelings become far less charitable and kind.

What do you think it is when you say things about how there are infinite genders but only two sexes and that everything about our lives (including bathroom usage) should functionally be determined by sex? Is it just not transphobic because you’re an uptight pedant who would argue it’s not bigoted because you think trans people should be allowed to exist, you’re just going to call them predators, so you’re not a terf, you don’t even know what a terf is, other than calling it a lesbophobic term, of course and pretend that most lesbians agree with you.

It’s obvious you know we don’t or you wouldn’t have worked so very very hard to keep your disgusting twitter separate from your fandom tumblr. If only your hubris and self-aggrandizement (see, there it is again) hadn’t compelled you to engage with the praise of your fic. If only.

To be clear, I don’t think you deserve threats or to be doxxed, which is why I’m not subjecting my followers to the screenshots of the shit you said. You can pretend to not believe you said what we both know you said. But you should probably stop lying about your beliefs so you can pretend to be the good guy.

tldr for you: Call trans women “males” or “these men” one more time and see how nice I am, you smug little liar. :)

I appreciate your thoughts. My Twitter was never a secret from anyone. It’s wild to learn that you think someone interacting with praise acts through “hubris” and “self-aggrandizement.”

i think it’s interesting you ask people to have a discussion with you with their names attached but the second someone brings some of the actual concerning and disgusting things you’ve done to attention the only thing you actually reply to is how you interacted with praise??
